From particle systems to differential equations

organised by Weierstrass Institute, Berlin, February 21-23, 2012

Overview

The main purpose of this workshop is to bring the two fields of analysis and stochastic processes together and to understand, from various points of view, how a macroscopic picture arises from microscopically defined random interacting particle systems.

In the three mornings, there will be two minicourses (each 3 times 90 minutes) delivered by

In the two afternoons, there will be talks by the following invited speakers
  • Michael Herrmann (Universität des Saarlandes) talk
  • Claudio Landim (IMPA, Rio de Janeiro) talk
  • Alexander Mielke (WIAS) talk
  • Robert Patterson (WIAS) talk
  • Michiel Renger (Eindhoven University of Technology) talk
  • Wojciech de Roeck (Universität Heidelberg) talk
  • Wolfgang Wagner (WIAS) talk
