Third consecutive berufundfamilie audit certificate
The Weierstrass Institute has been awarded the certificate for the audit berufundfamilie for the third time in a row. The certificate is awarded by the Board of Trustees of berufundfamilie Service GmbH as a quality seal for a strategically designed family and life phase conscious personnel policy. The Weierstrass Institute received the award for the first time in 2013.
The WIAS strives to further optimize its family-friendly and life-phase-conscious regulations in terms of the satisfaction of its employees and to consolidate optimized measures and regulations. The existing range of support will be evaluated, adapted to requirements and, if necessary, expanded, especially with regard to the needs of international employees and employees with fixed-term contracts. The communication of relevant offers and regulations is further intensified and a needs-based information of all WIAS employees is consolidated. The goal is a true family-conscious working culture, in which a life-phase conscious personnel policy takes into account the specifics of the various phases of life in the working world. Another important goal of the institute is to increase its attractiveness as an employer in the international competition for the best brains, especially among young scientists. With the certificate, the Institute wants to document its commitment to the compatibility of work and family both internally and externally and to implement central research policy objectives.
A prerequisite for the current certification is the successful completion of the re-auditing process, in which the degree of implementation of the existing family and life phase conscious measures was taken into account. By means of reviews, the framework and culture of the reconciliation policy could be examined, the results of the Institute's management mirrored and concrete solutions could be worked out in those areas where action was required by means of a targeted consolidation.
In the course of the re-audit, not only strategic goals were defined, but also concrete measures, which were recorded in a target agreement. These are now to be implemented during the three-year certificate term. The practical implementation is regularly reviewed by berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
