Stochastic Algorithms and Nonparametric Statistics”

(Head: Prof. Dr. Vladimir Spokoiny) starting as soon as possible after January 1, 2019 in the project “On robustness of deep neural networks” in the frame of the Cluster of Excellence MATH+.  The aim of the project is to apply rough path techniques in the context of deep neural networks. In particular, rough path estimates are used to analyse the stability of residual neural networks, understood as a proper rough differential equation in the sense of branched rough paths. In addition, we will use signature based deep neural network techniques in contexts of extracting dynamical laws from data.

We are seeking a mathematician (master or diploma) working in the intersection of rough path analysis and machine learning. We expect
