The collective behavior of systems of coupled nonlinear oscillators is of significant interest in many areas of science and technology. Different types of synchronization have been observed in a variety of optical and optoelectronic systems (e.g. coupled lasers).  Among different types of synchronization of chaotic systems, one can distinguish complete or identical synchronization, phase synchronization, generalized synchronization, lag and anticipated synchronization. The destabilization mechanisms in such systems often lead to the appearance of high-dimensional chaos.

The workshop will focus on mathematical and physical aspects of dynamical phenomena in coupled systems. The main topics will include:
The objective of this meeting is also a discussion of the future development of synchronization theory and its applications.
