The Weierstrass Institute is committed to the open science idea of making its research accessible and understandable beyond the boundaries of the mathematical community.

In order to present its research areas and results to a broader public and to stimulate enthusiasm for mathematics (not least among schoolchildren), WIAS uses a variety of media and formats. The video clips linked below on this page are examples of this.

Important recurring events in which WIAS regularly participates include the Long Night of Science in Berlin and Potsdam as well as the Girls' Day for career orientation for schoolgirls.
