Two-Phase Fluid Flows - Modeling, Analysis and Computational Methods

Aims

Damage phenomena take place on very different temporal and spatial scales. The aim of the Group is to derive and analyze effective, macroscopic damage and fracture models, where the interplay between the different scales is justified in a mathematically rigorous way. For the description of these multi-scale problems, sharp interface models and phase field models are coupled with elasticity and effective models are derived via homogenization techniques and methods from geometric measure theory.
