WIAS invites applications for a

Research Assistant (m/f/d)

in the Research Group

”Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing"

(Head: Prof. Dr. V. John) starting at the earliest possible date.

The applicant is expected to perform active research in the development and implementation of advanced numerical methods for application-driven problems from fluid dynamics, e.g., for multi-phase flows, flows with free surfaces, or fluid-structure interaction problems. The applicant should possess substantial knowledge in the implementation of finite element methods.

A university diploma or master degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline as well as a PhD degree are required.

The appointment is limited to 2 years and may be extended. The salary is according to the German TVoeD scale with a working time of 39 hours per week.
