The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.
WIAS invites applications for a
Research Assistant Position
(Ref. 14/36)
in the Research Group
”Stochastic Algorithms and
Nonparametric Statistics”
(Head: Prof. Dr. V. Spokoiny) starting at 01.02.2015 within
the framework of the
interdisciplinary project “Stochastics,
optimization and control theory”.
Applicants must at a minimum hold a master’s
degree in mathematic. Applicants with PhDs
are welcome. The successful candidate
should have profound knowledge on stochastic analysis, statistics,
optimization, and control theory.

salary is according to the German federal public service tariff. The
appointment is limited for three years.
