The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis
and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V.
(FVB). The FVB comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin
which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes
are members of the Leibniz Association.
WIAS invites applications for a
PhD student
in the Research Group
“Interacting Random Systems”
(Head: Prof. Dr. W. König) starting at April 1, 2013 (Ref. 13/01).
We look for a research fellow with an
university degree in mathematics, very good knowledge in probability, and some
background in analysis and/or mathematical physics. The duties will comprise
carrying out research on large interacting random systems.
Willingness to work on applied projects is expected.

The initial appointment is limited to 2
years. The salary is according to the TVoeD scale.
The weakly working time is 29.25 hours.
