3rd Leibniz MMS Science Slam

Leibniz
As the last two years, we organized a Leibniz MMS Science Slam. Science slams are fun competitions in which the participants present their research in a casual, entertaining way. The topics should be MMS related, the talks at most ten minutes long. Contributions can contain poetry, dance, rap, live experiments, etc. - everything to the extent permitted by law.

The MMS Science Slam took place on March 27, 2025 from 16:45 to 18:15 with the following, outstanding contributions:

  • Sanket Anand (IKZ Berlin) - Density Functional Theory: Or How I come to love the messy work in Quantum World
  • Meera Bishnoi (IHP Frankfurt/Oder) - The Story of My Grandma and Me
  • Olga Bokareva (LIKAT Rostock) - Getting in Sync: A Photocatalytic Story
  • Ulf Gräwe (IOW Rostock-Warnemünde) - Ocean's Seven – Facing 300,000 Tons of Trouble
  • Shahsharif Mohammadshafi Shaikh (ATB Potsdam) - Tom and Jerry with the Giant Grass Trap
  • Abel Thayil (WIAS Berlin) - An electron in a quantum bus
According to the audience vote, Meera's performance was declared the winner. Congratulations to her and to all participants!
