The Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics (IHP) researches and develops silicon-based systems, high-frequency circuits and technologies including new materials. It realizes prototypical solutions for applications such as wireless and broadband communication, security, medical technology, aerospace, mobility, and industrial automation. As a Leibniz Institute, IHP is working on long-term, strategic research assignments. It combines basic research with applied research. Through its pilot line with its own, very powerful SiGe:C BiCMOS technologies, it is able to demonstrate complex solutions with innovative and industrially relevant prototypes. Developed technologies are rapidly brought to a level at which they can be offered as research-based services.

How to reach IHP

By public transport

From Berlin

  1. By train from Berlin to Frankfurt (Oder) Station: Frequent direct regional trains depart from e.g. Berlin Zoo, Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichtraße, Alexanderplatz, Ostbahnhof, Ostkreuz every 30 minutes. Travel time: approximately 1h.
  2. From Frankfurt (Oder) Station to IHP:
    1. Take Tram line 4 towards "Markendorf Ort".
    2. Get off at "Technologiepark" stop - the very next stop to IHP.
    3. From there it's a short walk to the institute's location.

From other parts of Germany and abroad (except airplane via BER airport, for this see below)

If you're travelling from elsewhere in Germany:
  • First take an ICE/IC/RE train to Frankfurt (Oder) Hauptbahnhof. Check Deutsche Bahn for schedules.
  • Then transfer to Tram 4 as described above.
  • You can also join long-distance or intercity bus routes that stop in Frankfurt (Oder).

By airplane, arriving at BER airport

Get the next train towards Berlin city center and change at Ostkreuz station to a regional train to Frankfurt/Oder (see above)

By car

  • Get on A12/E30 toward Frankfurt (Oder)
  • Exit for Frankfurt (Oder)
  • Enter Technologiepark Ostbrandenburg
