Visa requirement

Conference participants are advised to check their visa requirement for Cuba in advance.

Those who need a formal invitation letter for Cuban visa are recommended to send a request at the conference email address: oms2017cuba[at]gmail.com
Often a scanned copy of the invitation letter received from Cuba by email is acceptable. Please check with Cuban Consulate in your country (check for instance here) the requirements concerning personal information that must be mentioned in the formal invitation letter. In the most cases, your complete name (as indicated in your passport) and postal address of your affiliation is sufficient.

Travel information

Conference participants coming from abroad are kindly asked to book their flights, in advance, to José Martí International Airport.

Traveling from United States to Cuba is restricted to certain individuals and is regulated by the U.S. Department of Treasury. In particular, travelers require a valid reason in order to travel to Cuba. The purpose of the travel to participate in OMS2017 can be, for example: Professional research or meetings (PROFL)
