Spreading dynamics in random environments

Berlin, July 6-8, 2026

Register now

Understanding how infections or information propagate through populations, or more gen- erally, through complex networks embedded in space, is a central challenge of the modern world. This workshop brings together both established experts and early-career researchers working on mathematical approaches to information and infection spread in random environments.

The program will feature a mini-course by Alexandre Stauffer, complemented by invited research talks from other participants.

The workshop starts Monday morning, July 6th, and ends on Wednesday, July 8th, in the late afternoon.

The venue of the workshop is the WIAS at Anton-Wilhelm-Amo Straße 39, 10117 Berlin.
Most of the event will take place on the ground floor right next to the entrance.

Getting there

The venue is close to the U-Bahn stations Hausvogteiplatz as well as Stadtmitte, on the U2 line (respectively U2+U6).

An alternative is to use the U5 and walk from Museumsinsel or the many bus lines that also stop close-by.

We have some funding available to support accomodation and travel for junior researchers with limited funding on their own. Please contact us if needed and we can see how to assist you.
