Focus topic
Understanding Language Models

Neuromorphic and cognitively inspired generative models of language are applied across many different domains of society. But at present, much of the behavior of such systems remains poorly understood and their inner mechanics are too complex to grasp. The promise of fusing statistical and symbolic AI techniques for applications in research relies on advancing the trustworthiness and interpretability of such systems.

This session aims to bring together experts from different research domains that study or apply language and related reasoning models. The foundational and methodological questions are relevant across different fields of research, and the same holds for many of the practical issues. In addition to work on neural models applied to language and cognition also work on related techniques such as logical tensor networks is of particular interest.
