Berlin Summer School on Applied Stochastic Analysis

Berlin, July 28–31, 2026

Registration is free but mandatory, via the online registration form.
Financial support is available for PhD students and early career researchers.

Registration opens on March 20

Deadline for funding and contributed talks: April 19, 2026.

Join us this summer in Berlin for a four-day summer school, designed for PhD students and early-career researchers in probability theory. The programme features two mini-courses by Josef Teichmann (ETH Zürich) and Pierre Del Moral (INRIA Bordeaux), alongside opportunities for participants to present their own research. The school is organized jointly by the IRTG 2544, the CRC TRR 388, and the SFB 1294

The scientific programme will begin on Tuesday, July 28, at 1:30 pm and conclude on Friday, July 31, at 4 pm. It will feature two mini-courses, each consisting of three 90-minute lectures, delivered by Josef Teichmann and Pierre Del Moral. Josef Teichmann will discuss recent developments in Neural Jump ODEs and their applications in generative modelling, while Pierre Del Moral's mini-course will be on Ensemble Kalman filtering.

In addition, there will be several contributed talks by PhD students and early-career researchers, providing participants with the opportunity to present their work. A conference dinner is planned for Wednesday evening (July 29).

How to contribute

We warmly invite participants who would like to give a contributed talk to submit a title and abstract in the registration form by April 19. Although contributed talks are expected to concern probability theory, they are not restricted to applied stochastic analysis.

Financial support is available for PhD students and early-career researchers. If you would like to apply, please indicate this in the registration form and send a short CV to IRTG2026@wias-berlin.de by April 19, 2026. Decisions will be made by early May 2026.

TU Berlin

The workshop will take place in the main building of TU Berlin, at Straße des 17. Juni 135, 10623 Berlin.
