This talk is concerned with the numerical simulation for wave propagation. Local discontinuous Galerkin method will be introduced for both acoustic and elastic wave propagation in bounded domain. PML and DtN (Dirichlet-to-Neumann) techniques will be used to analyze the wave propagation in infinite domain. Then we apply finite element method and interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin for solving the reduced problem. The accuracy and efficiency of the methods will be illustrated with several numerical examples including time-dependent fluid-solid interaction.
