The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis
and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e. V. (FVB). The FVB
comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin that are funded by
the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the
Leibniz Association.
WIAS invites

development, mathematical investigation, and implementation of numerical
methods for the simulation of transport-dominated equations, like convection-diffusion
equations or incompressible Navier-Stokes equations
(turbulent flows). The applicant should possess substantial knowledge in the
theory and implementation of finite element methods. A university Diploma or Master degree in Mathematics or
a closely related discipline is required. There is the possibility to work at a Ph.D. thesis.
