Nonlinear Dynamics in Semiconductor Lasers - Abstract
Slepneva, Svetlana
Long cavity fibre-based wavelength sweeping lasers are promising devices with a wide range of future potential applications from communications to life sciences. Here we analyse the mechanism that deteriorates the coherence of such lasers. We show that when we used the counter propagating laser beam in order to deplete the carrier density in the semiconductor device, the laser demonstrated different dynamical regimes as a function of the injection power. In particularly, such laser can generate grey solitons displaying a slowly varying chaotic waveform.
