Nonlinear Dynamics in Semiconductor Lasers - Abstract
Raab, Volker
We report on a relatively novel concept to operate multiple diode lasers in partially overlapping resonators. The different branches of this resonator are generated by polarization beam splitters. As opposed to common knowledge about polarization coupling, due to an external resonator we are able to rectify the polarization of overlapping laser emissions. Then this polarization coupling can be cascaded to increase the number of coupled laser diodes and thus the output power. The talk will illustrate the achievements mostly from an experimentalists point of view. The underlying concepts will nevertheless be explained and its limitations discussed.
