Topological 3D dissipative optical solitons and their bifurcations

Reviewed are 3D topological bright solitons in laser media with fast saturable absorption. They are characterized by their skeletons: arrays of vortex lines where the field vanishes. These arrays are tangles consisting from closed and unclosed, knotted and unknotted, linked and unlinked lines. The domains of stability of different topological solitons in the parameters’ plane overlap. Correspondingly, with slow variations of the parameters, bifurcations of solitons and hysteretic phenomena take place discussed and illustrated in the talk.
