Polarization properties of localized structures in VCSELs

We present experimental results relative to the polarization properties of vector localized structures in VCSELs. These structures have been obtained with a linearly polarized optical injection. Due to the various polarization-specific mechanisms happening in VCSELs, the structures generated from the interaction of the linearly polarized optical injection and the VCSEL are shown to acquire some ellipticity. The experimental results are compared with the numerical results obtained from the spin-flip model. Further analysis of this model is performed.
