Dynamics and spectra of single-and multicontact gain-switched lasers with an asymmetric waveguide with an extremely large equivalent spot size

The latest studies in the interrelation of dynamics and spectra of laser diodes with an asymmetric waveguide and an extremely large equivalent spot size under single-pulse gain switching for laser radar applications (experimental and theoretical) and under repetitive large signal modulation for nonlinear applications (theoretical) are presented. The effect of an intracavity saturable absorber is discussed.
