An adaptive finite element method for electrical impedance tomography

In this talk we discuss the finite element method, especially the adaptive finite element method for solving electrical impedance tomography inverse problems of recovering the conductivity distribution from boundary measurements. We derive an easy-to-implement adaptive algorithm for the Tikhonov regularization with a smooth penalty, and rigorously establish the convergence of the algorithm. Some numerical results are presented to illustrate its efficiency and convergence.
