Dynamics and bifurcations in a ring of coupled mode-locked lasers

Joint work with A.G. Vladimirov, S.V. Gurevich and S. Yanchuk. We investigate the ring of coupled lasers with passive mode-locking described by differential-delay equations. Existence and stability of amplitude-synchronized solutions with different phase distributions is studied for varying coupling parameters. There is an evidence of bounding of pulses between adjacent lasers due to coupling, which leads to previously unknown stable semi-synchronised “sequential pulsing” regime.
