Coupled stochastic active particles

Stochastic active particles aim to describe the dynamics of self-propelled particles. The activity stands for an internal propulsive mechanism whereas the random character of motion is due to the smallness of the particles as well as due to internal errors in the propulsive mechanism. Both aspects of the particle's dynamics yield a description similarly to a noise driven phase oscillators. In the talk I will concentrate on systems of particles coupled mutually and locally by alignment forces. I show how to derive 2d-hydrodynamic equations for the flows of the coupled stochastic particles. The qualitative dynamics of certain systems is discussed by various examples.
