Nonlinear dynamics of networks of coupled spin transfer nano oscillators

Spin torque transfer nano oscillators (STNOs) are fascinating nonlinear dynamical systems of considerable technological relevance. They are represented by Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert-Slonczewski equation for the spins and exhibit interesting bifurcation and chaos scenerio. For increasing the power output for practical purposes, there has been several suggestions to consider the collective dynamics of arrays/networks of STNOs with complex couplings, including delay, in order to achieve meaningful synchronization. In this talk, I will point out potentially new ways to achieve robust synchronization and also relate the problem to mass synchronization of coupled populations of Kuramoto type phase oscillators.
