The talk begins with a survey on convergence results for various 
Newton-type methods including the Kantorovich-Bartle theorem. Extensions to 
non-smooth equations and variational inequalities will be shown, as well as 
generalizations of the Dennis-More theorem. Inexact versions of methods will be
also discussed. An application to Model Predictive Control will be presented.
