Projektbeschreibung

Das Ziel ist die Entwicklung, Erprobung und Anwendung einer schnellen und genauen Pseudospektralmethode zur Lösung der mehrdimensionalen, allgemeinen nichtlinearen Schrödingergleichung, die die Pulspropagation in einem hohlen Lichtleiter beschreibt. Die numerische Integration erfolgt mit Hilfe eines Runge-Kutta-Verfahrens für die gesamte Gleichung. Das Propagationsmodell beinhaltet die Dispersion, Druckvariationen, Kerr-Nichtlinearität und Plasma-Erzeugung im Multiphoton- und Tunnelregime. Von besonderem Interesse ist das Verständnis der experimentell beobachteten Pulsfragmentierung, die sich durch einen Knick in der Phase ankündigt. Die Erkenntnisse über die genauen Mechanismen sollen dazu genutzt werden entsprechende Phasenknicke zu vermeiden und eine effiziente spektrale Verbreiterung für optimale Pulskompression zu erreichen. Die Resultate der Simulationsrechnungen am WIAS sollen unmittelbar mit experimentellen Resultaten am MBI verglichen werden.
