WIAS invites applications for a

Postdoc Position

in the Research Group

“Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing”

(Head: Prof. Dr. V. John) starting September 1, 2014.

The position is part of a cooperation project with the company TOTAL E&P RECHERCHE DEVELOPPEMENT. The aim is the development of improved algorithms and software for hybrid volumetric meshing based on Voronoi diagrams for geological models.

Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D degree in mathematics or a related field, and to have extended knowledge on methods for mesh generation in geological structures using Voronoi diagrams. The salary is according to the German federal public service tariff. The appointment is for one year with the option for a second year after successful project review.
