The Local Program Committee

ON SITE INFORMATION

In the planning of each session, we have considered thematic proximity, compatibility with attendance to the invited lectures of the same and related scientific sections of the ICM 2006, and a balanced intensity of activity throughout the eight days of the congress. Because of the high number of contributions and the restrictions given by the available rooms, it is impossible to fulfil personal wishes on schedule without loosing scientific coherence. Therefore we would like to have your kind understanding and ask you to refrain from requesting changes on the schedule of your contribution. We are very sorry not to be able to take them into consideration.

Posters can be displayed from 9:00 on Friday 25 until 20:00 on Tuesday 29. Obviously, they should be displayed at the time fixed for the presence of the author. Each poster should remain at its panel at least during one day.

In addition to these rules, posters taking part in the Poster Competition should be displayed not later than on Saturday 26 at 10:00 and must remain at their panels until Tuesday 29 at 20:00. The diplomas of the prize winners will be awarded on Tuesday 29.

CALL FOR SUBMISSION

Registered participants will have the opportunity to present their mathematical work in the form of a Short Communication, a Poster or a contribution on Mathematical Software. Only one of these three possibilities will be allowed for each participant.
 
 Presentations at the congress in one of the above mentioned sections will be considered, provided that participants
A poster is a display on some flat material, usually stiff paper or cardboard, synthesizing the main points of a mathematical work in a visually attractive layout that can be quickly grasped by other mathematicians.
 
The ICM2006 Local Program Committee strongly recommends scientific contributions in the form of a poster and encourages  participation in the (click here for details). Poster sessions provide pleasant interaction between colleagues, offering the possibility of discussion in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
 
Poster sessions will take place in an ad-hoc exhibit area. They will be organised according to the scientific sections of the ICM2006. The precise panel location and timetable for authors to be present and available for questions and discussions will be fixed and communicated in due course.
 
Authors should prepare their posters thoroughly in advance. Their contribution to the success of the Congress is greatly appreciated.
 
Posters will be affixed to ad-hoc vertical panels with two-side adhesive tape provided by the organisation. A panel of 2.20 m (height) x 1 m (width) is allowed for each poster.
 
Submission of abstracts available till March 30th. Abstracts submitted after March 30, 2006, cannot be considered. The Local Program Committee will notify authors of acceptance/rejection of their poster before May 30, 2006.

Abstracts of the contents of posters should be written in English using the LateX template available here. Authors should submit both the text LateX file and the pdf file.
 
The abstract text should contain:
I will participate in the poster competition YES/NO.

Abstracts of accepted posters will be published in the abstract books of the ICM 2006.

If you wish to submit an abstract, please take the following steps:
  1. Download the LaTeX template by clicking (here).
  2. Write the abstract according to the instructions of the template.
  3. Make a pdf file of your LaTeX file.
  4. Access to the on-line form by clicking on “submit my contribution” here below.
  5. Follow the submission steps:
-   Click on “New Abstract”
-   Click on “Poster”, the corresponding scientific section and answer the question 
    about grant application. (Send and continue).
-   Type the title of the contribution (in CAPITAL LETTERS)
-   Load the LaTeX and pdf files of your abstract. (Send and continue).
-   Fill in the Speaker Author Data. (Send and continue).
-   Fill in the Co-authors Data (if any). (Send and continue).
6. After having successfully completed all the steps, a closing screen will give you the number assigned to your abstract. Please keep this number in your records for further reference.
 
An e-mail of confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address of the Speaker Author data.
