Global existence and uniqueness for isotropic rate-independent plasticity

We propose a model for geometrically linear, isotropic dislocation based plasticity. The model includes local kinematic hardening and a $rm Curl$ term contributing also to the hardening. The thermodynamical consistency is shown. In the rate-independent case, the model can be cast into a variational inequality. Introducing a new Hilbert-space together with non-standard boundary conditions for the (non-symmetric) plastic strain allows to establish existence and uniqueness based on an abstract result of Han/Reddy. medskip Joint work with K.
