Optically coupled quantum dot lasers

Systems of optically coupled quantum dot (QD) lasers display many interesting features that are not observed with conventional quantum well (QW) based semiconductor lasers. In this talk I review the differences in some of the principal aspects of coupled configurations including phase-locked stability, excitability and multistability and describe some novel techniques used to characterise the observations.
