Multi-channel wavelength conversion using four-wave mixing in semiconductor ring lasers

In this contribution, we propose to use a semiconductor ring laser to perform all-optical wavelength conversion of multiple channels simultaneously using the cavity-enhanced four-wave mixing showed by these devices. We investigate numerically the multimode dynamics via a travelling wave model recovering available experimental data and we extend these approaches to simultaneous multi-channel conversion. We discuss the limiting factors and their possible solutions.
