Dynamics of extended cavity Fabry-Perot semiconductor lasers under fast frequency tuning

Dynamics of external cavity Fabry-Perot semiconductor lasers fast frequency tuned by means of an intracavity filter are discussed. A self mode locking type regime with a slow variation of carrier frequency is predicted in a certain range of parameters. The finding have relevance for applications such as Optical Coherence Tomography.
