Pursuing the ongoing digitization efforts during the last decades, the IMU has created in 2014 a working group with the task to create a Global Digital Mathematics Library framework connecting ressources of mathematical knowledge beyong literature. This is of particular interest for applications of mathematics which usually involve, e.g., mathematical models, software and research data. We discuss which facets such an infrastructure would need to be an effective support for MMS problems.
