Localized structures in a cavity filled with a left-handed material

Close to the zero diffraction regime high order diffraction allows to stabilize two-dimensional localized structures in devices based on the combination of left-handed and right handed materials. These structures consist of peaks or dips in the transverse profile of the intracavity field. Dark localized structures do not exist without high order diffraction. We analyze the snaking bifurcation associated with these structures.
