Recursive integral equations approaches for multilayer diffraction gratings

In the talk we discuss integral methods for multilayer diffraction gratings. In many cases these problems can be reduced to a sequence of problems on gratings with one interface, which can be modeled by singular integral equations. First we consider the case of conical diffraction by periodic gratings, where two recursive procedures have been implemented to solve conical diffraction for rather complicated grating geometries. Then we present an integral formulation for diffraction on biperiodic structures and discuss the extension of the recursive procedures to 2D multilayer gratings.
